I know frontosa are african but posting here as this is where I usually post and I'm panicing a bit...

about 3 weeks ago one of my frontosa went missing, I searched the tank removing all decor but absolutely no sign of her. I even searched down the back of the tank. I just presumed died and eaten. However tonight I have gone to clean out the filters and found her inside the juwel internal filter! she is a bit worse for wear with a few abrasions and part of her dorsal fin and tail missing and quite thin  Although she is pale I added her straight back with the others and watched she was accepted and her colour returned. Being the alpha female there was a bit of mouthing till the alpha male saw she was back and put everyone back in order. I have got her to eat buy dropping food right in front of her and she actually came upto my hand for it. I dont know whether to set up the hospital tank or leave her in the main tank I am just worried that moving her will cause added stress!

I have also put this in the emergancy section

Leave her where she is, the release of being back to normality will probably be good enough for her.

I can't advise people enough now of removing juwel internal boxes. I've had no end of issues with mine, both with fish getting stuck in or behind them and also all of the rubbish that builds up in the thin gap between it and the glass. My tanks are doing amazing now they are removed and look ten times better without that great black box thing sat in the corner.

She seems to be ok (I hope) this tank is the only one with a Juwel filter stuck in (got one running in another tank while the external is maturing) I dont tend to use them, I only keep this running so I have spare media if needed. Its going to be removed in the next few days once she has recovered!

I have calmed down a bit now

Good good, hope she picks up and recovers well :good:

Oh no, hope she gets well soon! I'm sure she feels better being back with her gang.
