Have I Got Room For More?

i currently have a 4 foot, 240 litre tank running a Fluval 305 external filter and a Fluval 4 internal filter (you can't have too much filtration)
its stocked with 5 Red Line Torpedo Barbs, 8 Tiger Barbs, 8 Khuli Loaches, a male Krib and a male BN. its also planted with Amazon swords, Crypts and Java Fern on bogwood
my water stats are always 0 Ammonia, 0 Nitrite and i never see more than 20ppm Nitrate. i also carry out a 25% water change once a week.

i was wondering if you guys think i can fit a few more fish in there? i was thinking a small school (5-6) of either Congo Tetras or possibly Black Widdow Tetras. i was thinking about Halequin Rasbora but i have been advised that the Red Lines don't get on with very small fish.

I'd say the Congos would fit in well...I love mine!

yup easily spare for another school of a medium-large tetra such as black widows or congos IMO. Don't know on compatibility with the red lines though, tigers could be a little nippy on the long fins of the congos?

Id go with the Black Widows over the Congos, the Tiger Barbs will most likley nip the long fins of the Congos. A medium shoal of about 10 should be fine! Have you thought about puting in a few Dwarf Cichlids in.

good point about the tigers, i may well look for something with shorter fins than the Congo's.

As its a lone male you should be fine!
