Have A Question About Stocking

i asked this in the betta section but thought it was more stocking related than betta related

i have 6 female bettas in my 30g and i just added 6 glow light tetras today that were on sale for a $1
would it be over stocking if i added 10 more fish

What are the tank dimensions and how is it set up? Photo will help with the latter.

If the tank will take it, I recommend that you increase the glow light number to at least 10 and preferably to 15+ as schooling species really appreciate the company.

the dimensions are 30x 12x 18x

thats what i was wanting to do is to get as many as possible since their on sale but i didnt know it i would over stock it by adding 10 more to the group
heres a picture since im horrible at explaining stuff (ignore the cory in the front as im still trying to catch him so he can join the others in my 15g)

Hmm, the height doesn't help much, unfortunately, but assuming you have enough filtration for the volume, good surface movement for air, and moderate planting for cover, then I think the tank should be able to take another 10 glowlight tetras. I recommend that you do not add more than 5 per week, but if you watch the water parameters very closely, then you could be ok adding more quickly. If you do plan to stock quickly, it would help to decrease feeding and increase water changes while the filter adjusts to the higher bio-load.

Edit, after seeing the tank, I would say that your set-up would benefit from some more cover. Also, a plain, black background would make it look better, I think

ya i know i need more coverage im my tank im in the process fixing it, personally i dont like black backgrounds

What about a plant wall or a 3-D one? One can get some pretty cool ones like that, but also it's not too difficult to make them yourself.

Ya I would do some thing other than black I thought bout blue or a plant background

I have a blue "background" and I love how it looks. It's really just a blue wall but 3 out of my 4 tanks have a blue wall behind them and they look great and then I put a blue piece of paper behind my betta tank because the brown cork behind it was ugly

I found a way to have a fabric background so I might try that since its a little cheaper for me right now
