Hatchet Fish

does anyone out there keep hatchet fish? i have an empty 8g nano & am trying to think of stocking options, would HF be suitable?

I think hatchet fish may get too big and they are souly surface dwellers which would mean there would be nothig happening in the lower levels of the tank how about some smaller shoalers?

i've already got harlequin rasporas in another tank, & various tetras, what would you recommend as small shoaling fish?

Neons, phoenix rasboras even cherry barbs as a medeuim shoaler. The list is pretty long so it all depends on what you like.

They get to 2" max, and are great jumpers too.
They stay at the surface and barley go below 5" and that is to catch food (my tank is 18" deep) so in a nano they may not go that far down as they would nearly be on the substrate lol.
