i have a friend who hasd several oscars.2 in a 55 and 1 in a 55(large).he showed me a neat trick.he dropped a pingpong ball in the tanks.the 1 oscar started pushing it back and forth.then we went in the other room and the 2 were like playing soccer.one would grab it and swim to the other side and bash it into the tank.the other one tried to attack it while it had the ball and vise versa.i thought it was awsome

I've heard of that before.

You may want to give your friend the heads up, the MINIMUM tank size for ONE oscar is 75 gallons. Not sure how big it needs to be to keep two. They are active large fish, so they really do need the space.

o.he has actually a very large oscar in a 125 w/ a jack.these three are still smaller.bout 3 inches in the 55 w/ two(rough estimate).and bout 4 inches in the 55 single.i meant to say long not large

I had a goldfish who loved to play with ping pong balls.

My midas enjoys ping pong balls and floating rubber ducky type toys :)

... h'mm rubber ducks do sound a good option....

my dads goldfish has a ping pong ball to stop the water freezing in winter but the goldffish likes playing with it

Do you think they would be okay with Bala sharks, Clown loaches ,a Plec, a golden tetra, barbs , dwarf Gouramis and a Golden Gouramis.
Any other toys to mention.

But had a thought would it burn under the Lights ??

it would be ok with any fish, as long as it doesnt fit in their mouth. i dont think any of the fish you listed will do anything with the ball though. ping pong balls wont burn because even fire wont light one  it wont melt either because it is in water

ping pong wont catch fire??????

:grr:

try and light it next time you see a ping pong ball
ps i wouldnt hold it....

So it would be unsafe as in the Jewel Rio tanks the light in the hood is hot enough I think......
Perhaps as she says they may not do anything with it.

I had never thought about giving a toy to my fish that they couldn't eventually eat. This sounds like great fun. I'll be getting some toys! Wonder if the pouty betta would play with one...

My oscar loves toys. He has a ping pong ball, a large plastic floater thing (like for fishing), a rubber ducky, and a rubber fish :D
