Hey
Just curious to see whether anyone's kept a fish tank in a wardrobe or a closet...? Obviously with filter, heater and lighting going, it would be perfect right? Away from the sunlight, no extra light for algae growth, a perfect light cycle for the fish (10 hours of light, rest of the day complete darkness) etc

Hmm, can't recommend that, in a wardrobe the tank would need several lights, so that they go on and off slowly, like a sunrise/sunset. Besides, you can't give that tank much attention...

That was my first fish house...banks of small killifish tanks. the wardrobe was polystyrene lined. and cutouts on the facia to view the tanks. heated with a 300w fan heater coupled to a thermostat. A small airpimp on a ringmain coupled to spongefilters and brineshrimp hatchers were all hidden in there.

Tried that once... the wardrobe has no doors and faces the southfacing window so the tank got fairly natural day-night cycles. Light went on just after sunrise, off just before sunset. But my parents cracked up about it... it would be better to have doors so they don't notice.

Shhhh... but there are still some froglets, a betta spawning setup (currently empty) and quite a lot of fish paraphernalia in there.
