Harlequins?

i have 7 harlequins 6 are the normal colour with the black triangle bit in the middle. i have one that is 85-90% black, it is the same size and shape as the rest but black-ish? got almost the same colour as a green tiger barb but wrong shape? is this a sub type of harlequin or is it that it hasn't devloped as well as the rest? any ideas
