Hello, me and my hubby are having an agurment. i want to buy the kit to hang my Coralife Compact but he want to do it himself. I just afraid it might fell and break since there alot of mositure there. he a genernal Contrator so he think he could do it all lol
I wanted to know if this is possible?
Thanks

Would it be into the plaster or into a brace beam above. If its in to the plaster then you could put a wooden board behind to support it although would be tricky and messy so "wall mates" screws would be best, approximately 2-4 per hook then a chain down to the compact. That way it should hold around 15 kilos but these things should really be secured into a timber baton in the frame just for safety sake.

He going to put it in the ceiling joist (the beam)
He has an idea and will post pic too.
Just want to hear other ppl opinions. How many feet away from the tank would be good?
Thank you :)

Depends on the plants, size of tank and wattage of the bulb. As a guesstimate before I get these details anywhere from 6" to 1' would be good

Hello,
It a 40 gallon tank and it has 10k bulbs, i dont know yet what plant but it already installed. He put it about a foot above the tank. will post pic for other to see.
Thank you
