I put up a profile on red-fin halfbeaks, Nomorhamphus ebrardtii, in the fish profiles section.

If you're interested in halfbeaks, stop by and take a look.
The baby Celebes halfbeaks (which is what they seem to be) are thriving, and I haven't lost a single one so far. Even the ones that escaped into the main tank for a few days were recovered. After about 10 days of only really taking live foods, they've now graduated onto flake and frozen foods. Frozen lobster eggs seem very popular. Only one is deformed; all the others are strong and active. After about three weeks, colour started to be apparent on the fins and the anal fins of the males were obviously "different".
About a week or so ago I got another batch of fry, apparently from the large female red-fin halfbeak. Only eight in total, but they all seem strong and healthy. I've put them in with the older fry and there's been no problems. In fact, the little fry follow the bigger ones at feeding time and eat whatever they eat.
Cheers,
Neale
