hi whilst doing my water chang i noticed that my neon was half gone and dead on the bottom of my tank:crazy: i am totally puzzled as to what caused/ate it ?as they were all there yesterday could my plec or anything else in my sugnature have eaten/killed him or could he have been sucked into my filter and when i lifted my filter out the water today it may have fallen out any ideas would be grateful cheers joe

ok thanks i have obviously removed him but my stats are fine and the other neons look ok (touch wood) ill just keep an eye out as i was worried because i thought my plec was going cannalbalistic lol

You should remove either the male or both female bettas because they are incompatible with each other.

yes thanks durbkat i am going to move my male betta once my fry are big enough to be moved from the 5 gall tank cheers ill update my sig so every one knows as everyone keeps telling me lol

Do you notice any torn fins on the rest of your tetras? One of your other fish may be the cause of your half eaten tetra.

no the rest of the neons seem ok to me the only thing id say is they seem to chase each other i cant tell if its the same ones lol they zoom about occasionally?

Well most likely the 5 males are brothers and are just very laid back and don't care about fighting. Then why do you see threads on here about how one of their males jumped the divider and attacked the other male or there was only 2 or 3 females in a tank and there weren't enough females to spread aggression all of them got beat up.

Rubbish.
Absolute garbage. I know of many many people who keep male and 2+ females together for years and never ever had problems.

And I know of many more people with male bettas who can't even tolerate being in the same tank as any other fish.... It's just a matter of time, one day, even the most placid male can think 'hang on, this is my territory' and become like a mini fahaka... Considering I once bought a female and a male PK together (male mixed in with females, they are siblings, I presume), decided to attempt to keep them together, and within 5 minutes he was attempting to kill her, saying 'garbage' is like saying just becasue one person has successfully maged to keep other fish with puffers, they make great community fish.

ok thanks guys ill keep an eye on the frogs though they must be (if they are the culprits)going for the neons at night when im in bed as they are hardly mobile during the day lol and as for the bettas they dont really bother each other though ill still probably move them apart
