my half black panda guppy has just started giving birth,is it ok to leave her in the breeding trap overnight as i don't know when she will stop.

cheers

IMO breeding traps cause stress, which could lead the guppy to miscarriage, but this usually only happens when the fish is left in the trap 24 + hours, so you should be okay as long as she is only in their for a short amount of time and not a prolonged amount of time :good: Good luck with the fry!

best not with the fry still in there she may eat them she should stop giving birth with in the next 10-20 minutes,

she has only been in the trap a couple of hours, noticed her acting strangely in main tank

Okay, so she is actually giving birth right now, if so I would turn off the lights and add a small clump of some sort of plant like java moss or Riccia in the trap so the fry have some cover from the mom

breeding traps dsont cause stress moving fish to trap to soon causes stress put it back in main tank if you see fry then put them in the trap

IMO when the fish is in their to long it does... Just my opinion, everyone has different opinions and mine is that they get stressed when they are in a breeding trap longer than 24 to 48 hours

she is giving birth at the moment, just wondered when i should move her back to the main tank

Good luck with your fry.
