Hairgrass

hi i am thinking of geting to pots of hairgrass of ebay will that be anoth for a 2.5 gallon tank to cover most of thje bottom also when planting this plant can you pull the plant apart and plant it every where and it will grow together to form a carpet as i want to cover the whole of the bottom of the 2.5 gallon tank

That very much depends on the tank setup, I tend to find it needs a fair bit of light and a decent plant substrate wouldn't hurt.

well i have a 25 watt light which i s a bit much so i just put it on for about 6 hours and wat i wanted to do is to make like a carpet with 2 rocks sticking out of the carpet

i didnt end up getting the hair grass as my mum said no but instead i used some plantes i have in my bigger tank and planted them in the 2.5 they where

combomba
pennywort
vallisna
java fern

and i added a bit of driftwood aswell

Some of those will get pretty big for a 2.5 gallon but they'll grow none the less!

well i am goin to keep it nice and neat and trimm it as i find i am better at aquascaping a small tank but i sucjk at doing a 15 gallon

In ways I agree - it took me ~8 months to get close to a decent scape in my 15-gallon and maybe half that in my 5-gallon. Plant choice is the key, choosing ones that do not grow out of scale for the size of tank, I'll be curious to see how things do in your 2.5-gallon as vallis can reach a metre or so in leaf length, cabomba will also go nuts if it takes well. Java fern can also be very big (30cm+) depending on the variety.

I will post some pictures when everything starts to grow out it probaly wont be for a while as i have just blown the bolb so i will have to get one today also if anyone has any recipes for diy co2 for this size tank could u plz tell me al it has in it is 1 betta
