Now that my tank has settled down and the fish are doing OK (apart from a recent touch of white spot), my plants and ornaments are starting to get covered in an algae. It looks a bit like green candyfloss (spun sugar for those in the USA, lol) and when it's removed from the tank, it's just like green hair.
I have three Otocinclis and two Sailfin Mollies which seem to nibble at it, but that's all; besides it took hold before they were introduced and they're still only small.
So please, what's the best way of getting rid of it. I'm doing partial water change tomorrow so I could remove all the "non living" things from the tank and give them a good scrub in the aquarium water. I have the aquarium lights on for 10 hours/day. I also have a Hagen Green - X phosphate remover which came with the tank but has not been used yet. What do you think please?
Thanks in advance for the feedback
