Just got my Co2 up and running a couple of days ago and everything is going well so far.

I've just noticed a build up of white stuff on the bottom of the diffuser - Is this anything to worry about?

Would a simple bubble counter stop this white stuff getting into the tank?

Thanks guys,

Chris.

I get it with diy Co2 dont know what it is but I dont think it does any harm or we would have heard about it. I just clean it off every now and then so that it doesnt clog up the diffuser. Nothing to worry about as far as I know.

Baking soda in the mix will cause the white stuff to appear. I have a diy set up with the Hagen ladder and when I use to add baking soda I use to get the white stuff. I stopped using it and now I don't have this issue anymore. I don't think it's anything to worry about.

I don't use bicarb in the mix, but i still get the white stuff.

I had the same problem, personally I dont think there is much you can do about it. The only thing I can suggest is that you add a bubble counter, the white stuff then grows inside this which at least keeps in out of the tank.
