I was looking for some form of lighting for my 36" aquarium, and came across this. I was wondering if anyone has used it before, if so what are your thoughts? It's alot cheaper than Arcadia's Luminaire, and is made by a reputable brand.

Also, i can only spend £45.00, that is my limit, does anyone have any idea on cheap places to buy it online? The cheapest i have currently found is £59.40, from Zooplus.

I'm open to other recommendations. ;)

Also, i posted this thread within this board as it is alot more active. :good:

Thank you, Adam.

I've looked at these myself and wondered if they're any good. i believe some of the folks on UKAPS have used them before, possibly even George Farmer but I don't really remember who it was. I think these are the lights that come with the Osaka range too, which are pretty sexy looking tanks :)

Anyway, ebay shop "OnlineGC" has the single 39w for £45.99 (£8 shipping on top). Bare in mind I don't believe these come with a tube, so that's an extra cost on top too.

Thanks, i have looked at that seller myself, and that price is only for the single tube version, i'm looking into buying the double tube version. :good:

Ah right. You might be hard pushed to find one at that price then. I thought that wasn't a bad price for the single. You might do better looking for a second hand one, or DIY'ing one. A double T5 light Hagen Glo light unit (not luminaire) can be had for £30 if you look in the right places (eBay - AceAqua - see your PM in a min...) If you can't retrofit to your hood, or you want a luminaire/open top, a length of large black guttering does a very good job. I use this over a little 60cm tank I have and it works fine. I am considering adding some legs to mine but trying to decide how :D

Thank you, DevUK, i may have to look into that. :good:

i have the 36" version of that system and i love it. however, keep in mind that the system, at least here in the US stores, DOES NOT COME WITH THE BULBS!
i paid $136 for the system and then $30+ for each bulb so around ~$220 total after tax

it's worth it though. great light and no problems so far. the system doesnt have a on/off switch so i recommend you get a timer for it :good:

Thanks Trojannemo, i'm looking for a bargain as i type, i am going to find that bargain! :shifty:

Already got a timer sorted, just need the fixture. :good:
