i'm swapping one of my tubes (arcadia tropical tube) and was planning on a dennerle - however in my home made hood i can't get a 15 watt light in without a lot of fiddling around (it's currently got 14 watt tubes).

has anyone got a Hagen Flora-Glo Fluorescent? if so can you tell me the K rating of it and if it's proven to help your plants?

if not any other hagen tube - are they much good?

Hagen Flora-Glo is 2800k. Never used one though, so can't help you there Sime.

we replaced ours with dennerle as we didnt have much luck with the -glo tubes

the 15W and 14W are the same size - just a slightly different technology.

If they are T8 they will be the same size so I say go for the Dennerle's

thanks chaps - if i use two freshwaters (7500k i think) will that mean im not covering the range of the spectrum i should be?

wohoo - found a dennerle with postage of £2.99 as opposed to £7.50 from before. Ordered it already :D

The Flora-glo's are a similar colour output to the Dennerle but lack the intensity as they're not full-spectrum.

Dennerle mixed with Freshwater is probably the best mix available IME. I use them both and can definitely recommend them.

Good luck.

bloozoo2 - just to let you know (if you havent already ordered) that mine came today! I only ordered it on monday night, came wel packaged wednesday morning.

will be fitting it tonight - then it's bye bye to my origional tropical algae grower :D
