Is this this tank to small or is it okay? I have two male bettas and a female, who are coming this week. I need to get housing for them. I already have two bowls, but they are smaller than I want. One is a cup from where I got a female betta from Wal Mart and the other is a Vase. I've kept a betta in the vase before, but I want to get and decorate a bowl for them. Would this bowl be okay or should I find the 6 gallon version of it and try to get some sort of Filtration in it? or should I just get a 2 1/2 gallon square tank for each betta and let my new female go with my other female in my community tank?

Here is the link to the bowl.

Most betta enthusists agree on at least a one gallon for a suitable home.

THe bowl on the link works great, I think some people on this forum have them in use.

If you have only one female in your community, it is advised not to put just one other female with her. They can be territorial and at least a 10 gallon with at least 4 female bettas is recommended to even out the agression.

My advice: get a one gallon for each of the new bettas. Or buy a 2.5 gallon and split it for the males, and get the female her own one gallon. Of course, if you were handy, then you could get the 6 gallon and split it into 3 parts so each of the bettas had 3 gallons--they would probably love this!

Give them a plant or two each and some where like a cave to hide. Maybe just a couple plants if no cave. Make sure, for the males, you use silk plants so as not to slice up their fins.

Good Luck with the new fish!

Thanks for the reply! I will be taking all of your advice into consideration when setting up and buying my new tanks. They are all only about 6 dollars a piece for the two gallons. Thanks!

I have one of those that is one gallon, and my boy is completely happy in it. They are also cute and different.
