Anyone had any experience with these? Im a total newb to CO2 systems and although it sounds nice and cheap im sure your comments would be really helpful.

I have a trigon 190l and i realise i'll need around 3 of these, would just one benefit my tank?

I have various amazon swords, crypts and other plants that are all a week old in the aquarium and looking ok (no browning/yellowing) but i really want them to THRIVE. My predicted stock includes 20-30 cardinal tetras, some rams, hatchets corys and 20 amano shrimps.

Many thanks

One Nutrafin unit would do very little in your tank. For the price of three units you could buy a second hand pressurized system from e-bay or the like.

If you have the standard Juwel lighting then CO2 is not essential. I would however strongly recommend a nutrient-rich substrate additive if you haven't already; swords and crypts are very root hungry.

CO2 will help, as will fitting reflectors to your lighting if you haven't already. Swapping the standard Juwel supplied tubes for full-spectrums will help too.

The CO2 and lighting pinned threads are your friend.

I like your stocking ideas BTW.

Thanks!

I did add some laterite before i poured the sand in, i bought a box of it from my local dealer in pellet form. I did some reading before hand but i never seemed to find out how much was sufficient, it was a very sparse sprinkling in my tank and at the time it seemed ok. Should you add like 1-2 inches of it?

Well i had the First Layer (the make) laterite and it wasnt much (see pic)

As you can see it doesnt seem to be much, but it says to mix that with 1" of gravel and then poor the rest of the gravel ontop. Not sure what yours says but mine says add X grams per liter.
