Well i cant comlain, i have atank

At last i have got another sorted. I converted my workshop into a what my wife Her Den haha. She is the pool lover so this year i sold up and closed the shed down to get her a pool table and built myself anew fishing shed.
So in here i squeezed a 650l intead of the 3500l i planned for years ago. My od i must love her or a bit dolally.

Anyway. I made a stand at work and got this 6x2x2 tank

And then, to get the tank in, it was gling to be as big if not a bit bigger as the sofa

And through the wall itno a filter room / home brew or fish breeding room.
Ill get onto that next.

But good to be back. I was unsre on what we wanted to keep as i fancied native fish, Perch, Roach etc etc. Decided to stick with a community tank of tropical.

What ever it will be great i hope

Thanks and yep, i miss all my tools, but as i am getting tired of non stop working and mesing about i am lookoingforward to chilling out a bit more.
I say that, i have just bougth a bigger van to convert to a camper haha

Definitely a bit doolally... but am loving the look so far. Jealousy is all it is, I don't have such a room I can convert. Very well done so far.

So next step, Sump

Got a bargain 38" x 14 x 18 tank and used some persepx i had and a few sheets of 6mm glass cut to size to make the baffles.

Oh yes i insulated the sump and tank will be done soon. need to also make the cabinet around the tank, hope to be done in a couple of weeks, have alot on as usual, just while i am `resting` haha

I have ordered more media now a si just wantd to test the running of the syphon filter system, and happy to say its spot on. power cut sump wont overflo and restarts perfect. I have it on a 4x turn over with Eheim return pumps. A K1 chanber and is wworking well with the overlfo to turn it over, jsut the little buggers get through the bottom egg crate i added, wish i did a top exit for it but a top entry get the K1 moving better. due it floats. So a few niggle to sort out but it will be reat to strat the cycle.

Looking for some Crinum Thaianum / Water Onion for the right hand side, added some aqua feet for it so want some asap. this will grow up and over maybe 25% of the tank length.

I have a video of the sump in action but unable to laod it, unless anybody can help a it says its to large to load. Not good at tech lol.

I am enjoying this, not rushing it lke most do. The hard bit for me, as i guess many is setting it out. Atleast w ehav edecied on smaller comminuty fish

I have filled it and now cycling it. And this weekend i went to a shop and got some plants and a couple of 300watt heaters. And then i think a bragain for a few bits if bog wood fro £50. Of my most annoying place to shopa swell, He had them for sale for near 3 months and still for sale. I got the three for £50 and good bits i reckon.

I also got a light and for my BIG regrets i got nother two on there way.

I say my regrets as the APP for workign these is doing my head. 5 hrs and still cant wokr out how to programme them to turn on and off atleast lol. never mind the roper settings for time of day. I got more as they seem good jsut me being dim but things these days should be easy to set up. even for a non tech head like me.

What a differance insulating the tank is. looks naff now but ill sort the rest soon enough. Just have alot on so in time. Should be cycled soon. been a couple week now and i didnt add enough ammonia did i at first lol.

We went to Pier Aquatics on saturday, by eck how fish prices have gone up. but then cant expect anything else in this country.

You know i do miss the the workshop that it was. i knew i would really. Now though i enjoy coming home and chilling more.

The roof is 80mm insultaed roof sheets. wall are rockwool and then 32mm PIR foamlplasterboard . It keeps warmer than the outside temp by a fiar bit wiht no heating on. I have started to keep the doors joinging the house open which helps keep temps up in the room.
I have heating in here aswell when needed. Its a diesel heater i run on Kerosene. they do a great job.

What i have found is the insulating of the tank and sump with 25mm polystyrene has done wonders to keep the water heaters from kicking in.

I am sorting the filter oom nnow as as soon a si have insulated and lined that ill be adding some breeding tanks and a hosptial tank etc.

Also i am in the middle of plumbing in for water changes. syphon out on tap to a crain and then how and cold to refill on a mixer setup.

I syphon out door or window and then turn the return pump down to 4 [DC digital ] and fill the tank from the sump.

I have been doing mine fro last so many years with syphon and hose pipe and hose back in, so much faffing. This is going t o be so easy on 200l +-

I just drop the Dechlorinator in the sump coup;e dose ata time. All parts should be here today so ill ahve it done tomorrow.

I was hpong they would be more excited aboutt he Courgette, Fleaboy is ( L)&% ) a little. BN`s not intertesed. Ill try Cucummber

Always a worry if theer eating enough as they dont show much interest in the Algae pellets either. Ill get some new one soon and thry them.
