omg is that sucker heavy or what?
We bought some new furniture on a whim (not very well thought out) and it didn't fit, but couldn't be left stacked, as it was a hazard to my 4 y/o all. We had to take the big tank out of the living room and swap it over with my piano in the dining room.
Yuck, how many buckets of fish water were standing in my house last night? Good lord, I had to put the plecs in the bath as a holding tank while we emptied it. Baths with plecs, like "Dances with wolves" but plecier. They'd have been straight out of those buckets though, I've seen Nessie take off out of the tank before, came out like a Polaris missile and flopped all over the glass top. I probably have the cleanest bath in the country right now, I must have scrubbed it for an hour before deciding it was clean enough to put them in.
Everyone looks ok today, all eating and busying themselves about the tank, but I'm watching eagerly to see if it's going to cycle now, we must have changed out half the water, I wish we'd had a better game plan there.
On a side note, I found a new way to catch the big guys. Carrier bags. I put the carrier bag into the tank, herded the plec up one end, then when he turned around, he just swam in, I closed the top up and took the whole thing out to the bucket, plec and all. No damaged fins or bashed heads as they weren't trying to escape from anything hard, no poked fingers either. Just have to be quick in case they rip the bag.
