i would definitely encourage you not to give up. i have gone through headache after headache with my fish. at one point, i introduced a fish into my tank and the next day, every single fish had ich and they ALL died. then, when i got my 55 gallon, ich broke out in there too. it cost me over $100 in medication, etc. to finally get it to go away. now that it's gone, my tank has decided to RE-cycle itself, due to the fact that some antibacterial medication i put in has destroyed the bacteria colony. my poor fishies.

at any rate, i definitely understand it's a pain in the butt! i was in tears for a while out of pure frustration when i couldn't get my ich to go away (it took almost a month to get it out of my tank!!) but don't give up. it will be rewarding one of these days we just have to wait... and i am the single MOST impatient person ever to walk the planet. so i am well past the "slightly irritated" stage at this point!

best of luck with your tank, and to those of you jumping on cheffi's case about not taking your advice: just because she can't run out and buy/find everything you suggest doesn't mean she isn't taking your advice to heart. she has thanked quite a few people on this board, and has only turned down a few suggestions given to her. so lay off, please.
