friends and online bloggers revealed to me its possible but im expecting it would be REALLY hard.

Dont think hard is the right word, cruel is probably a better description of keeping a creature that can grow to around 6-8 inches long in a 1 gallon tank.

In my opinion there is not really anything that can be kept long term in a 1 gallon tank (at least in terms of fish).
