OK so, ive been nuked.
When i came hoem today i saw two little guests in the aggresive tank.
Two balas.
this worries me for i know they get big, and in a coupel of months tht tank will be chaos.
does anyone know the growth rate of the devious little creatures?
no probles so far.
they are a big smaller than the other fish so they know there place.
oh there is a good part, i go4 snails for my other tank, which they are happily eating leftover food on the gravel.
anyway help with the balas PLEASE

Balas grow fast they grow big and like to be kept in shoals of 6 minimum. What size is your tank? Some people reckon you need a 4 footer but but a lot reckon 6 is better.

oh jesus christ.
sorry for my language but thats trouble
he has tank mates.
if worse coes to worse im gonig to have to take one and move it to my oher tank

How did they get in there anyway?
Someone bought them for me.
1.becuase they saw them in a terrible envornment in like a 5g display tank at an lfs.
2.just for a gift i guess.
well i gss i have some time, im getting a 75g soon anyways
mines about 54 right now
they seem to be fine though

In general they're very skittish and have a habit of bumping into the walls. Why not just take them back to the LFS in the hope someone with a huge tank buys them? They might be ok in your 75g but they are a shoaling species. Just be thankful that they're not Tinfol Barbs I suppose as I have seen these have alarming growth rates!
