:look: HI I AM NEW TO THE WORLD OF TROPICAL FISH SO WHEN I STARTED OFF MY TANK TWO MONTHS AGO I JUST ONLY PUT FIVE FISH IN IT TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE.(2 CHERRY BARBS, 2 SOUTHERN PLATYS AND 1SHARK. I ADDED 3 GUPPYS TO THE TANK THREE DAYS AGO AND ONE BY ONE THEY HAVE DISSAPPEARED WITHOUT A TRACE.... THE STRANGE THING IS THAT THERE WAS NO SIGN OF BULLYING OR TAIL NIPPING FROM THE OTHER FISH AT ALL. PLEASE HELP AS I WANT TO FILL THE TANK WITH MOSTLY GUPPYS AND NEON TETRAS BUT I NEED TO RECTIFY THIS PROBLEM BEFORE I ADD ANY MORE FISH THANKS :byebye:

have u checked your hole tank?they may be hiding due to the stress of moving or im sorry to say this but they may be dead! :(

Not only that but make sure your tank is cycled (which im sure it is by now :fun: ) but anywho, the barbs probibly ate them or if it wasnt that you didnt place them in the tank correctly, read the pinned section in the newbies section that explains how to introduce your fish into it's tank properly, you dont simply dump them into your tank. (you might already know this but it could be the reason why they are dead/missing)

-_- Correction :p : its at the top of this section, anywho heres how to do it:

"You'll want to either float your bags in the tank or empty the fish with water into a cup for acclimation. Add small amounts of your tank water to the bag or cup over a period of about 30min. Net the fish and add it to your tank and discard the water in the bag. It's best to keep the tank lights off while the new arrival settles in. If the fish is going into a community tank, quarantine would be best. Wait a few hours for them to settle in before offering food and you should be fine"

(from the pinned article with a few minor changes since it was from shipping a fish/ to buying a fish from a store and bringing it home)

Thanks for all the advice :) most appreciated. cool cars by the way :cool:

Sometimes the fish will jump out of the tank as well. If you have holes cut in the back of the lid for your heater and filter or if you do not have a lid at all. Check behind your tank, hope they are not there. Sorry for your disappearances.

>>> barbs... munch munch

Very few barbs are aggressive, sadly they all tend to get the reputation of Tiger Barbs. Cherry Barbs are completely inoffensive and won't bother guppies.

what shark did you have in there because when i went to my local pet store i wanted a shark to go in my guppie tank and he said that the shark would rib them to shreads so the shark could be your problem
