Guppys???

I have only 2 Guppy fry left out of around 30 fry I had a week ago today.
I left them in the main tank.
But the 2 guppy fry are bigger then my 20 fry witch are 3 weeks old???
And 1 is allready starting to get colour on it's tail???
Only a week old

How long have the tanks been up and running? I noticed a similar occurance with my guppies. If I netted them and put them into a smaller 5 1/2 gallon tank they grew slower and developed color later than the ones that stayed in my larger 20 gallon (US) tank. I think it either has to do with a larger environment to grow in or the water conditions.

The fry tank has been up and runing for 3 months and the main tank 2 months.
I think you are right.
I also think the 2 that grew faster were not eaten.
All the slow and weak one were eaten.

is it colour is it just blackness on its tail

Yes just blackness on its tail.

Blackness of the tails is the first sign of color though. I wonder what albino guppy fry would look like?

i think i have albino fry no colour at all and nearl 4 months old

I had the same experience recently. 2 survivor guppy fry turned yellow and black within one week of birth. The rest got eaten. They grew FAST. I have some new ones in the same tank,I'm watching to see if it happens again.

Good. It's nice to know I am not the only one.
I have 3 females ready to give birth very soon.
