2 days ago i got 3 orange sunshine guppys, they spent a good amount of their time at the top of the tank just below the water line. they arnt trying to get air just sitting bellow the surface occasionaly going specs of stuff on the surface. is this normal behaviour? they do occasionaly go to the bottom of the tank but they all stick together at the top most of the time.

other fish in the tank are 6 cardinals that have been in for about a month, tank was cycled a month before, fishless.

my readings are
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate between 5-10
ph between 6.5 - 7

i havent done a water change for two weeks as i usualy do it on a saturday but got the fish then so didnt want to freak them out.

is this normal behaviour? could they still be hungry?

thx.

They may be just settling in,normally i would do a w/c before i add fish,it won't harm them doing a w/c,may liven them up.

My yellow female spends a lot of time hovering at the top especially when the tank lights are on,but soon comes out when its feeding time

have you seen them eating since you've got them?

I wouldn't feed fish un-necessarily,they will eat what you give them, whether they're hungry or not...
