is it all right for there to be female guppies with male my mum said its not fair on them because the males keep chasing them

I think you need at least 2-3 females to each male. That way the male doesn't stress out on female. I would provide lots of hiding places also.

the thing is thay only go for the one i put in on tuesday not the new ones

Males will prefer the most mature female in the tank or the least pregnant. I find either increasing your male/female ratio(to distract males away from the one female) works or add more plants so the harassed female can hide better from the harassing males.
