I have a female guppy that is pregnant. My question is lately all she is doing is staying on the bottom of the tank , Doesn't want to be bothered ...Is that a sign of birth ? She is big and has two spots near the tail ,the beginning of it...I decided to put her in the breeder... Any help would be highly appericated..
Thanks Lisa :good:

2 questions.
1. Is her water OK/ Can you post stats on ammonia/nitrite/nitrate?
2. Can you post pictures?

The other fish will tend to chase her about as she gets ready to give birth, it is sometimes a sign that she's ready to drop.

Also she could go quiet as you mentioned and some fish will get aggresive and will hide in a certain spot and chase away any fish that come near.

You should probably get a test kit. When I first set up my tank I lost a fish due to poor water conditions (and misleading pet store staff...)
The fact that she perked up after a water change probably suggests that there as too much ammonia in her water.
She is cute! I'm no expert on guppy pregnancy, so I couldn't tell you if she was ready to drop, but it didn't look like she was to me... :dunno:
