I have a gray female guppy, not the typical cream/gold colored ones but rather she is a "speckled" gray coloration

I don't believe the colors important though

anyways, I've had her since Wedsneday

and I have a question

In the morning, when i turn on the aquarium lights her gravid spot is clear and/or a creamish color. However, as the day goes on, it darkens to the typical black of a gravid spot.

I've had guppies before, and I can't remembering this happening beforehand.

Is this color changing of the gravid spot normal?

And she hasn't had babies, because the gravid spot will begin cream and turn to black over the course of the day.

Completely normal. The gravid spot is always there whether pregnant or not. It will appear to change with lighting and angle differences.

no that's not it

it appears at the morning that there is NO gravid spot ---- the area where the gravid spot is supposed to be is cream colored and then darkens to black and/or dark gray later in the day

when the lights are off and the fish goes to sleep they loose their colours, well reduce their colours really, this all thats happening and is completely normal, it happens to the gravid area as well, pregnant females wont loose the colouring in their gravid area at night time

Whether or not you can physically see it, there is a gravid spot in all the female fish. Lighting and angles can make a huge difference making it very pronounced or almost non-existent.
