If it's the one with the orange/red tail then yes she is pregnant but still has a while to go. If she is young then you won't get many from her in her first drop. You can either seperate her when she has a stomach abit like this \___/ or you can let her give birth in the main tank and catch the fry as she gives birth to them. Either way seperate the fry if you want to keep them as the adults will eat them.

okay i understand. how about the other female, the blue tail one (you can see it on the last pic she's the one to the left)

also, i have an 18L water container it is very wide and tall, is it possible way to use this for when she is ready to give birth, is there a way to make a separate like those plastic breeder boxes have so the fry will drop down to lower part and be safe?

Yes that will be fine for a couple of weeks till they are bigger.

How long does it take for them to get big? i will probably feed them, frozen mysis, flakes, dried bloodworms.

Do you mean adult size or large enough to go in with the adults/down to LFS?

large enough to enter the main tank :) i only have 3 guppies in my 10gal, so i wont buy anymore if they are going to breed like rabbits. oh and i guess that's my next question.... how many guppies will fit in my 10gal if they breed?

Hi,

I have a couple females in my tank. One was about the same size and a few days after bringing her home, I found two fry in the tank (both shortly disappeared). I brought home a second slim guppy and again two more fry appeared.

None, thus far have lived! :( Keep an eye on your tank because for all you know you may see a little fry any day. They are SO difficult to find. Mine blended right in with the substrate.

Ian keeping an eye best I can. My male died I dunno why, his skin was flaking on his head and was white. When I went to remove him, his skin was sticking up all over his head. Rest of fish are fine tho. But I'm also wondering still about my 8L container. I don't think it is reusable so perhaps it will break down inside and cause deaths? I was told if it has a 5 and up it's ok to reuse, this is a 1 so not reusable. Should I worry about that?

For them to enter your adult tank i'd wait till they are about this big _____ so the adults can't eat them, as for how long it will take i'd say about 5-6 months and it is best to set up a small tank for the fry to grow in. I'm selling a small 2.77 gal tank that i used for my fry to grow in,it includes Gravel and 3 ornaments, i'm selling it for £5 plus £5 P+P.

2 to 3 weeks and they can go in with them feed them crushed flake, (baby brine shrimp if you can get hold of any) crushed pellets, bloodworm after 2 weeks (get frozen and grate it up, add small amount) same with daphnia, brine shrimp, etc...

Water changes is key as well, water changes stimulates growth.

10 gallon tank you will be ok with 4-6 guppies, i would not reccomend keeping loads of fry in with them though, but 50 fry will not do much harm in the tank, (once the fry get to 1 month old though they got to be re-holmed)make sure you do regular water changes to keep the water stats good..
