Guppy Pregnant?

I got a female guppy yesterday and I think its pregnant.



Could anyone tell me if it is and if you have any idea how long along it could be or how long untill its fry are born? Thanks.

Also I got a apple snail and was just wondering if they fall back on their shells will they be able to get back up?

Yes she is pregnant. You see that black dot just past her belly. Those are the eyes of the fry. I am not sure on how long before she will give birth. They are pregnant 2? days 28 I think it is but since you don't know when she got pregnant I am not sure how you can tell besides when she looks like she is going to pop.

As far as the snail I would think that it could get turned back over but I have smaller snails.

i have a female the same colour as yours,its hard to tell when a female will give birth,yours could be up to another 3 weeks,and then once shes had the first lot every four weeks,

Thank you. My dad was saying she wasnt so I had to get it cleared up lol.

She was swimming at the top since I got her yesterday and most otoday but the past hour or 2 shes came down to the bottem. Wonder if thats a sign cause the male guppy I have is still swimming at the top (either that or shes trying to get away from him lol).

2-3 females per male is best if you have room, or he will harrass her all the time.

1 male 1 female. Plan on getting another female maybe next week. Didnt want to get 2 much yesterday incase it messed up the tank lol.

At first I was like "you took a picture of my guppy?" mine is exactly the same except her tail is a deeper colour and shes a bit more pregnant than yours! =P
My babys will look awesome though, i've got a special guppy pair but can't remember what they were, and the male mated with my other female... So hopefuly some rare variety!

Yes, she's pregnant. In response to another post here - The gravid spot isn't the fry's eyes, exactly. They will always have a gravid spot since that's where they store sperm/eggs and have parts of the reproductive system. The fry in there make it darker, and the fry's eyes are visible sometime too, therefore making it appear darker too.

Aqua_dude - The Gourami may be nippy with the males, it's hard to say. It will probably depend on your Gourami. You could try it, but be prepared to monitor them and seperate if needed.
