hi recently added a post about my guppy giving birth, she had 13 fry, but looks like she still has some inside her the dark patch has moved further towards her back end and she stills has some weight on her. she gave birth yesterday i put her in the breeding net to give her a rest from the men, next thing i know there they are 13 fry. it was totally unexpected as she was still feeding well and she wasnt hiding or anything. could she have dropped so many at once and now maybe she is ready to drop some more

It is possible that she prematurely aborted a portion of the fry due to the stress of being placed in the birthing trap and still has more fry to go.

she showed no signs of being stressed, she was very active within the net and kept feeding well, shes the same in the tank, the males are still bothering her. the fry are all healthy and are a good size and feeding, they are eating flake and crushed daphina, i am off to buy a tank tomorrow for them to allow them to have more room to grow, along with my 2week old platies. some of the guppy fry are actually bigger than my platy fry. when my platy was stressed she just laid on the bottom of the net all day looking sad but my guppy was not like this??? could it be i took her out of the net to soon??? and now she will not have the rest until she feels safe again???
