My 30 gallon is home to only male guppies. 6 of my juvenile male fry are very nippy towards the older males in the tank so much so that 3 of the older males have developed fin rot from the nips in their tails which I've been treating.

They say though it's best to get rid of the stresser but I thought male guppies were supposed to get along fine together?

I'm really not sure what I should do :dunno:

Theres 10 males in the tank right now. It's only the 6 juveniles that are harassing the older males. The 4 older males are peaceful with eachother. The fry have grown up with the older males since they were a few weeks old.

Only the 3 brighter adult males are getting nipped at. I have a big black male who never gets bothered. It's only those 3 males who are getting nipped at who have the fin rot. All the other guppies are fine.

im afraid i cant help but i thought that males could be together too. turned out of the six i had 1 male decided to kill 3 others. had to get lots of females in the end to stop the aggression. i know you probably dont want the babies but most of them got eaten by the parents anyway and you could get some mid swimmers to clean them up.

you wonder why you got fin rot, simplest solution - add females they are justvreally horny and fighting for female attention and because you havent got any they are seriously stressed and got fin rot

Yeah but I've heard on here all the time that having only male guppies is fine and that they will all get along. As well as in the long run the males and females are better off seperated because there wont be the stress of having to mate and the females wont be stressed with having to give birth every month.

Now I'm confused :S

I don't think I have enough room for females do I? It's 2 females to every male thats 20 females.

It's a 30 gallon with 10 male guppies, 6 corys and 2 SAEs.
