Guppy Information

i skimmed through the info and it seems pretty good to me. i use fishprofiles.com. that is my main source for info.

here is the link to the page:
Mod's Note: Sorry, I had to edit the link since it had a forum and it's technically against the rules. :/

the best way to tell if a fact sheet is correct is to look at multiple others and see if the info is close or even exact to each other.

i hope i helped

Looks fine to me- lots of good info there!
The only thing I would add is that, with inbreeding, guppies have become somewhat less easy to care for, that a lifespan of 2-4 years may be rather too much to hope for these days (though you could strike lucky), and that I would add internal parasites and internal bacterial infections to the diseases they are prone to. So I would inspect any guppy you buy carefully- and their tankmates, to check that they look healthy, are not trailing thin white poo etc.
Also, in the diet- they like the occasional helping of vegetables too; helps to keep them regular.

There were two main problems not mentioned and they include what dwarfgourami stated and that you should have a ratio of 1 to 2 or 1 to 3 of male to females :D

It looks pretty good. A few things I noticed though;

Breeding: Lifebearer
Did you mean Livebearer?

Ideal pH: 7.0 - 8.5
It can go below 7.0 too, especially if you're going to go all the way up to 8.5. They can adjust to most any pH, as long as they are acclimated properly.

Temperature: 64-82 F (18-28 C)
64F seems a bit cold...they are tropical fish. I'd say 70F minimum.

A pregnant female can be identified by the gravid spot (darkened area) behind her anal fin just posterior to the belly.
Females actually always have gravid spots, pregnant or not. I'd say a darker gravid spot, perhaps?

To prepare for her delivery, keep the female in shallow (about 8 in.), aged water at 75 to 80 degrees F.
You might want to add in you can also use a breeder tank, let her give birth in the tank, or use a breeder net (cringe).

I'd also add in Columnaris in the disease section. That's much more common then fungus in Livebearers. :)

Anyway, it looks good. Just a few things I noticed.

i apologize to the mods. i don't use the site for a forum so i never realized that it had one lol. i use it for info. i will try to remember that the next time i give info and look for a forum on the site.
