my guppy gave birth on april fools day!!!! BUT!!!! she still looks VERY pregnant and has still got a large gravid spot  is it possible for her to hold on to her babies after giving birth to some already??? she was in the breeder net when she gave birth and there was about 15 fry in there with her, i removed the fry to a nursery tank and left her in the net over night to recover and put her back in the tank the next morning sure that she had finished but now im not sure!!!!!! please help!!!

Yes in my experience they can hold onto babys; i once had a f.guppy who had 20fry and one week later she had another 15. I'm not sure how this all works but i find putting the female back in the main tank for a couple of days/1 week usually helps encourage them to give birth to the remaining fry; also maintaining top-notch water quality conditions helps too.
Oh, and congrats on your fry  what color are they?

Thanks for your reply i feel better now! They are all kind of a browny colour with huge black eyes! Some have a dark line through their middle and some dont  at the moment they are in the nursery tank with my platies that were born on easter sunday so this makes in total about 50 odd fry

Sounds like they're going to be intrestingly colored when they grow up; i only have 8 guppy fry at the mo(expecting alot more on the way though) which are all yellow although one has a grey tail :*) i love teh way guppys are so colorful and and varied in their coloring/pattening.
I know it sounds bad but if you ever have too many fry or fry that have a mutation of some sort/are too inbred, scoop them up in a net and put them in the freezer for about 4 seconds- they instantly and humanely.
