Guppy Harrassment

I have 2 guppies in a 2.5 gal at work. These are my "friends" while I answer calls and type orders every day. Recentally, I've noticed my female harrasses my male. She chases him and nips. It doesn't help that he wants attention at times. Why is she so aggressive and why the odd behavior after they've been "friends"?

She is probably fed up with his incessant attentions- particularly if she should happen to be pregnant- and a 2.5 gallon is far too small for them. There is nowhere for her to get away, and not enough room for either of them to work off their energy, this may well contribute to her irritability.

They have been doing great together today.

If this 2.5 gal is too small for them, I can move them to my 10gal. community tank @ home. I would like to put fishies in this 2.5 gal on my desk at work. What would you recommend I put here instead? I really don't want a betta.

Yeah, someone else suggested Cherry Shrimp. I don't know... They seem kinda hard to find. I don't care much for the ghost...

You should get a Betta fish!
