Guppy Getting Bullied?

I assume my guppy is getting bullied, its tail is really frayed and very very short. Is there anything i can do? its in the tank with 2 neon tetras and 2 purple emperor tetras. should i section it off or something?

HI, um does the fin look like it is rotting away? it could be fin rot or nipping at the fin by the others

It doesn't look like rotting to me (from what I've looked at on the web) it seems more nipped, it was nipped at a little bit before but i woke up yesterday to see the poor things tail fin (is that what its called?) was really short and in a bad way.

if it is very short then issolate him straight away, get some anti finrot meds in just in case, and with clean water and stable conditions should heal right up, providing its not down to his skin

The tetras are notorious for fin-nipping, unfortunately.

The fins of your guppy will grow back in time and will be helped by a little Melafix (but make sure you get the dosage right) but if he remains in that tank it will just keep happening from time to time.

i 'adopted' a tiger barb and he took a chunk out of one of my guppies, the tail is near enough fully healed now, i just kept him well fed and did a few extra water changes, glad to say the tiger barb went to the LFS
