thanks to people who answered my questions so quick this afternoon otherwise i might not of had any left ! but my guppy had her babies today , i only counted 5 left when i moved her but when my hubby came home he went straight and had a look and he noticed a large bunch of them on the bottom so we make it at least 12 now so I am really pleased . I'm giving them ' first bites ' at the mo . Any tips on bringing them up ? when to change there food ? when to release them into the community tank etc ? :D :D :D

I would move them onto crushed flakes at 3 to 4months old; the main rule rule putting them back into the main tank is do it when the fry are bigger enough not to fit into other fish's mouths.

First of all, Congrats on the fry! :D

Like Toxis said, you can move on to crushed flakes after they are a few months old. After that, you could also feed them very finely crushed freeze-dried foods, such as Bloodworms, Brine Shrimp...etc. Frozen foods can also work.

A good rule of thumb for when to put them in the community tank is after they are big enough so they don't fit in the mouths of other fish. You might want to wait a little longer after that, though, so they don't get bullied.

My Guppy fry in the past have always loved First Bites. But, since I keep frozen baby brine shrimp around for my Betta fry, I've taken to giving it to the Guppy fry, too, and they LOVE it. They can eat that right after birth, too.
