USA,
does anyone know where I can find one of these? I looked on google but it kept saying I needed to say puppy instead of guppy and I really dont care about puppies growing sizes and I have none.

   The joys of the cyber age. Honestly I would PM SnowyAngel, she probably knows growth rates, now she's raising guppies for fish stores.

lol, i dont know who that person is.
and i tryed ask jeeves but it was just about guppies behavior not fry. I know there was a betta chart in the betta section once. That minght be the same. ill try to find that.

what kind of info are you looking for? is it when to seperate the male from the female or when they can go in with the rest of the fish?

just sizes they should be at a certain age, because mine are small. Well some of them are, but others are bigg, and I dont know if its the normal size, well not that big, just bigger.

-_- the only thing my book says is that at 4 weeks the sex will develop. i would think that they would still be pretty small though because guppys arent very big when they are full grown. i dont think that helps you much though does it. sorry. how old are your fry?

type in google "guppy growth chart -puppy" the -puppy will take out all the sites with puppy in it, i used to know a site with a chart on it but as with most things i forget it lol

theyre 5 weeks old, there are 3 girls and 4 boys though, lol.

well lets put it this way my book said at 4 weeks to get a magnify glass to see if its a boy or girl.doesnt sound like they are very big.

some arent, like 2, but the others are. I got a heater and they started to grow. I cant wait till theyre bigger. My mom loves guppies so Ill actually be able to get a bigger tank for them!!

Approximate growth rates of the Guppy.
Please keep in mind that this will vary according to care (especially feeding), and genetics. However, I have included this for general reference. Please note that females may grow much larger than the males.

Male Body length not including tails.

New born: 6 mm
One Week: 7 mm
Two Weeks: 1 cm
One month: 1.5 cm
Two months: 2 cm
Three months: 2.5 cm
Six months: 3 - 3.3 cm
Full grown: 3.5 - 4 cm

to tell the sex of fry The answer is, believe it or not, at one week of age! Just look for the gravid spot which every female has. Use a small magnifying glass and a flashlight. When separating them, if there is a question as to whether a guppy is male or female, put it with males. Keep in mind that there is no urgency to separate them until the male's anal fin begins to look pointed. He cannot inseminate females until his gonopodium is developed.

How soon can guppies multiply
Females mature at about 3 months of age, perhaps sooner in a warmer tank. Males sexually mature somewhat sooner. The males will develop a modified, pointed anal fin called gonopodium, after several weeks. The male with the least desirable traits often impregnates the females, and all chances of controlled breeding is lost. This is a good reason to separate them before the male can develop his gonopodium

there you go

Erin :)

thanks! Most of mine are at the right size then. Im glad. All the males look the same so I dont care who impregnates the girls.
