I bought 3 guppies yesterday (2 female 1 male). I noticed when i got back home yesterday that the one female had a white fin and was only swimming with the other healthy one. This morning i awoke to find her dead and now my other female has this white film across her fins and tail. Also none of my fish will eat. What's going on?

Firstly, did you cycle your tank properly? Where did you buy them from? Did any others look a little suss? Any chance of some pictures?

Yeah tank has been cycled before christmas, i had fish in the tank before i transfered them to another tank they're all fine. I bought the fish from pets at home and they all looked really well. The other female which is still alive had no marks at all yesterday and now has white films across her fins and tail. I'll try and get a few pics up shortly.

At a first guess, I'd say you have white spot(ick). I've had to deal with this before and its not exactly fun but you can loose many fish quickly from it. Make sure this is the case first, and make sure no other fish are in the tank. There's lots of detailed description, but the basics are:
- Buy Ick treatment and use sparingly
- Remove carbon from filter system
- Turn up heater (30oc was in my case)

I thought ick was white spots. My guppy doesn't have white spots it looks like the fins and tail are turning white.

Maby because the tank had no fish in your bacteria could have died? then your tank went into cycle again?
Sounds the only explanation i can think off.

I had guppy's from pets at home most didant last more than two weeks max.

The tank has been constantly running with fish. I also have silver tip tetras, glowlights and a betta in the tank and they all appear to be fine, although the betta isn't eating. The male guppy doesn't seem very active he just seems to swim in the same spot. Do you know what could be up with my female i have posted some pics. Thanks.

Fin Rot
This seems to generally be a bacterial problem in guppies, however fin nips by aggressive tank mates or damage from sharp ornaments can cause physical damage to the guppy's tail and fungus sets in. A fish with an obvious bite out of it's tail or a split that has acquired a white edge, has been infected by fungus.

If there has been no obvious damage to the tail and the edge shows disintegration and shredding (usually with a light-coloured edge), it should be assumed to be a bacterial infection.
