One of my guppies died today - I had noticed that she had become quite hump backed but otherwise she seemed fine and she was very pregnant too. But in last few days she became very thin again but I have seen no babies at all - which is unusual as my tank seems quite good for hiding out in as I usually get quite a few babies who survive. She also lost almost all of her colouring and became very very very pale and then yesterday she seemed to be haning around a lot.

Anybody know what could have been the cause of her death :( All her other tankmates are fine and the water stats are all normal - normal nitrates, no ammonia or nitrites etc and no sudden temperature changes.

Hump-backed? Possibly fish TB. Did she have white stringy poo before she died?

Sorry to hear about it though, it's always hard to lose a fish, especially a pregnant one. May she RIP. :(

Sounds like she may have had internal parasites. That's not good...because once a fish dies, they tend to spread to other fish in the tank. :/ You might want to try medicating for Internal Parasites.

Was the anus red and inflamed, or enlarged, sounds like fish tb with the hump back and being skinny, plus internal parasites can make them skinny, unfornately guppys are very prone to internal parasites, i would keep a close eye on the remaining fish for long stringy white poo, sorry for your loss, R.I.P.

I've lost 2 guppies recently and when the third started acting the same way, moving erratically, breathing fast, whitish poo, the lfs told me it could be internal parasites, I'm treating for that at the moment and I've lost no more, the one acting odd looks a lot better.

Just to solve one mystery - you probably didn't see fry because, under so much stress, she would have aborted.
