Im new to breeding guppipes...i have: 1 male guppy, 2 female guppies, 2 tetras (black on the sides), 2 bottom feeder (anonymous i guess), and 3 snails...i cant afford a 2 1/2 gallon or a 5 1/2 gallon with llight and filter etc yet...but i will down the lane maybe in a month or so...i wanted to know if anyone had a picture of your pregnant guppy or a description of one. Both females have one and the one from what i saw on another site looks maybe 2 weeks into pregnancy cause shes a little chubby yet the other one has an even bigger gravid spot but isnt as fat...i havent tested my ph but i just bought a kit so im testing it soon,,,,help please

is your tank well planted? if not get a breeding trap. so when your female gives birth you can scoop up to fry and put them into the breeding trap. if you dont mommy will make a quick snack outta the fry.

and there are a lot of pics of preggy guppys. just look around this furom youll find them.

True for pics look around, I think u should buy a bunch of hornworth, Or a breeder case to put ur guppy fry there.

:D guppies are a lot of fun....watching them giving birth, then seeing how the babies grow.

Unfortunately your tetras will probably feast on any babies born in the tank......the newborn fry are just the right size for them to eat. You could use some sort of breeding trap/net to prevent this ....not sure as I don't use them myself......I'm not sure if floating plants will be enough to prevent the babies being eaten with the quick moving tetras in the tank.

I siphon the bottom of my tank each time I do a water change.....gets rid of any left over food and fishy poops

good luck with the guppies
