They're here :hyper: One of my guppies has given birth, 3 more to spawn. I can see about 5 fry at the mo' hiding behind the plant pots. They look so cute  Have fed first ration of liquifry and am trying to keep the other fish well fed so they're not tempted to swallow a few fry. Little beggars are pretty quick though.

Congrats, love baby fish.

I had mine two days ago, I think I counted 35. Me and my girlfriend actually saw the fish giving birth. it was awesome!

Never saw mine giving birth, what's it like does the mother fish look in pain.

She did look kind of weird.

I usually feed my fish in the early afternoon and noticed she didn't even move when I dropped the flakes in and usually, she would swim like crazy.

She was breathing quite fast and just hanging by the heater and not moving much.

While giving birth, she would just swim around in the trap between babies. More oftne than not, 2 would come out at the same time. She didn't seem in pain, although I don't think she found it very amusing. :p

I came back home after a little shopping and noticed 4 fry in the trap. After 3 hours, they were 35 I think. The first babies took the longest to come out. The more she had, the faster they came out.

Thanks, i missed out so wanted to no what it was like.

I saw a female guppy giving birth a couple of years ago - it's sooooo cool. Although the coolness of it was slightly dented by the fact that the rest of the fish had also realised and were hanging around snapping up the fry as quickly as they were born :(. I didn't have a breeding trap, and they just ignored the flakes that I tried to feed them instead!

Still, it made the rest of my fish very happy, and it is just nature... :|

Awesome :kana:
Thanks everyone. Have got a fry tank set up incase it's necessary to remove babies. It cycled really quickly using an old fish-poo filled filter pad!!

don't forgot to keep adding an ammina source to your fry tank while it is empty because the tank will quickly uncycle...
