Ok, is there ANY way to have a guppy tank and NOT have fry? I get a bit squeamish about "fry eaters" but I dont I want all my males to be fighting all the time. Its gonna be a 10 gallon.
Any suggestions?
thanks!

I have male guppys in with platies, but if you buy a female livebearer the odds are she will be pregnant.

So you have male guppies in with female platys? Do they try to breed? Those offspring will be sterile, right? Do you have male platys in there too? Do the male guppies fight with eachother? I can handle one brood of sterile guppy/platy offspring I guess.
I was going to get an all male guppy tank but many many people advised against it saying the guppies would get all aggressive with eachother.

My male guppies get on great together, it's abit of luck they to suabble now and again but nothing to serious, platys and guppys can't have fry together.

ok.

Guppies will try and breed with anything.
It's inposable for guppies and platties to cross.
I have NEVER seen any males fight with each over, (try to mate yes, fight no.)

Hope that helps.

need anything else just ask. :D

So you think I can have my all male guppy tank?
That really makes me so very happy!!
Now..
Guppies are very small fish all around- so does the one inch rule work? How many guppies can I put in a 10 gallon guppy only tank?
Oh its gonna be so pretty!!
happy dancin' happy dancin'!

Platies and guppys will not breed, guppys and mollies a different story, about 9 guppys should be fine.

I have yet to see evidence of mollies breeding with guppies.

But hay not getting into that one again.

I can't see any reason why not, I had about 9 males together all happy. :D

My 8 male guppies are in their own monastery tank, a 10 gallon, and they love showing off to each other and trying to flirt but I've never seen any fighting or bullying, ever. There's a few fry growing peacefully to size in with them right now, 2 ottochinclus and 3 cories and they all are having a blast. My males are so busy proving which one is better looking that nobody has time for fighting. It's all about who is the coolest dude(like the walk off in the movie Zoolander).

There are some beautifully coloured female guppies out there if one keeps an eye out, I love my ladies, but they're kept peacefully in another tank. Rabbits have nothing on guppies so yeah, an all male tank will be fine. Besides it builds guppy male character to have some self control for once! :D
