I just started getting into breeding guppies again and bought a 40gal tank. I have 4 males and 6 females swimming around in there and they're all so pretty. I'll have pics of them soon! I'm not too familiar with other live bearers but would like to start trying my like with some new ones. Anyone have any suggestions as to where to start? Would it be similar to breeding guppies? The last time i bred guppies, I started out with 6 total guppies and ended up with 250+. College came along and i didn't have time for my guppies anymore so i gave them to my sister to take care of. But school's finished and I'm ready to rock and roll!!! =D

Optimal Optimal conditions i found are:

Temp 27 Celcius
Feeding 2 times a day, 1 live food, other flake food
Slightly acidic water
Guppies should be on their own
Water changes once a week
4 females to 1 male. (I once had 12 females to 1 male and after impregnenting all the females, the male died LOL)

Thats about it

Thank you for the information. I look forward to testing my luck with new live bearers. I'll keep you posted on how things go
