1. So dont put guppies in there. Mainly, they need company, and there is not enough swimming room. I would stick with a betta.

How many guppies /to/ a gallon? The general rule tends to be an inch of fish per US gallon; if you have a 20 gallon tank you could probably put 7-10 guppies comfortably.


I wasn't sure if you were asking how many can be in a single gallon tank or how many guppies per gallon of a larger tank. Hope that helps!

The size of the tank and dimensions make a difference too. For filters AquaClear hang on back filters are great. For plants, Java Moss and Java Fern are easy plants to take care of and they help out with the bioload.
