guppies gravids spots changed colors

What does it mean when female guppies gravid spots change from black to reddish (appearing to be gone) to black again?

OK this is really strange the gravid spots are black again....Has any else had this happen?

i think it has to do with where the babies are positioned and which way they are facing. my guppies seem to have the reddish brown gravid spot i the morning when i turn on the lights, but as the day progresses it turns black again. this is usually about a week before delivery i think.
