Guppies, Corys, Loaches, and Swordtails!

Yay! So I'm borrowing a camera from a friend, a Canon A85, so I figured now would be the perfect opportunity to post some pics of my new fishies.

I do have a lot more fish to take pics of, including my new Gouramis and male Bettas, but unfortunately those tanks are in some serious sunlight and no amount of me trying desperately to cover the blinds is going to work. And even worse, I'm going out of state for the weekend, so you are all just going to have to wait till late Sunday night or Monday to see those guys...but I think you'll be able to handle it.

On with the piccys!

First off, my Swordtails. This guy isn't new, but is a very late developing male...I call him my Trany Sword. This is one of the two small female fry that I rescued from one of my lfs...not to tiny anymore is he.

And this is my beautiful new female Sword. She has the most amazing coloring, and you just have to love those red eyes.

Catfish and Loaches next. Here's one of my cute little Striped Kuhlis playing in the plant stems...these guys are getting so fat.

Next, an adorable little Oto.

And finally, my newest Corys...Skunks. They are soooo super tiny and cute!

And finally, the last group for this posty, my new Flamingo Guppies. These guys have the most amazing color for Guppies...I feel in love with them instantly. Unfortunately they are also really super hard to photograph...almost as hard as Danios.

Yeah, they sure are pregnant aren't they. I'm expecting them to give birth any day now. I'm planning on letting them have the babies in the main tank, and then removing them. I'm going to be selling the babies to a nice lfs around here as well once they are grown.

Oh and if anyone on the forums wants some babies let me know!

I love your new female swordtail! She's very beautiful! The cories are cute too!

I have a female guppy that looks exactly like yours! I can't believe how similar they look! Your female guppies would be delivering fry very soon! Good luck!

Just an update on the Guppies... I was in Michigan for the weekend, as soon as I got back tonight the first thing I did was check the tank, and guess what? Two of my females had given birth! I am now the proud Guppy Mommy of 11 little fry! I am still searching the tank though for more...they are so darn tiny, that I found most of them hiding between the gravel several hours after finding the first few.

Thanks guys! The babies are just soooo tiny and cute!!! And there seems to be only 11. But thats still way more than I was counting on having...with 8 adults in the tank, I was expecting to come home to all of them eaten.

Chooklet - Male Swords are gorgeous. I've had a few now, but for some reason all of my males die...;the females are tough as nails, but the males just aren't very strong and I rreally haven't figured out why yet. Here are two other males that used to be in the tank, but have sadly passed away:

The red-orange coloring on this one was amazing.

And this was my black metallic one.

shrimpster97 - Ohhhh, black with yellow sounds really neat! I just love black fishies.

parker313 - Thanks! I figured you'd like the Corys. The three Otos in that tank also think they are Corys, so the six of them swim around and sit in little groups together. It's adorable.


Yet another Guppy fry update! I was cleaning the tank just a few moments ago, and I found another little fry! That brings my total so far up to 12 babies! They are sooooo adorable. Sorry, I know they are just Guppies, but I've never had Guppy fry before and I just love baby fishies.
