Guppies And Tiger Barbs?

Have any of you tried keeping female guppies with tiger barbs? I'm trying to rationalise my tanks and the girls will either have to go in with tiger barbs and chain loaches ... or they'll have to go off to the lfs. The guppy boys will have a tank of their own - as will my original female guppies (with a couple of platies).

I like the young girlies and they're lively young guppies (almost fully grown) - but they're bound to get a bit of hassle from the barbs, at least to start with - will they be up to it do you think?

i think the tigers will still nip.... sorry but it's your risk and something I'll not do.

hi iv keept guppies with tiger barbs before for 6 months and all was fine ,but as soon as i give the tigher barbs to a friend they killed his guppies ,like helterskelter said its a risk

I think it is probably too much of a risk. So - much as I love them - they'll have to go off to the lfs and find new homes.
