How often is it again that guppies will produce young??

and what age will the guppies be sexable
1)when gopondium develops what age is this
2)when they get their colours??

Guppies will produce a batch of young every month or so depending on temperature.

1) about 2 months before you can sex them and the male's gonopodium is present.

2) they are usually born with their basic colour but males can continue to develop colour until they mature at about 3-6 months old.

The warmer the water is and the more food they get the faster they grow and sooner they mature.

Guppies will produce young every 4-6 weeks (more at the 4 week mark is average)

1. The males gonopdium will start to pruduce at 4-6 weeks of age

2. As colin said, is as accurate as i could get.

They all look around 2 weeks pregnant at the very most, the yellow tailed one (last pic) these are very hard to judge sometimes cos they dont get very big and can be very decieving pending age..

but 3 and a half weeks ago you said they were about 2 weeks pregnant on a post that i done??

So obviously they have dropped since then and are now 2 weeks pregnant again (approx) lol, they drop every 4 weeks...

ps, the yellow one is further on than the grey one.

none of them have dropped since ive had them only the yellow one dropped on 27/01/08

so this doesnt make sense??

ok if your yellow one dropped on that date, then its due any day ( i did say yellow ones can be decieving) ...

1st one: about 1 week pregnant

2nd one: about 2 weeks pregnant.

3rd (like i say can be decieving these ones) but going by our discussion, she is almost due :)

I can only go by the pics, and these are only rough estimates, the more pregnant they are, the more easier it is to roughly estimate them :)

ive had the first and second one for about 2 months and they have never dropped and they have been with males. theiur hasnt been much change in them why would this be??

My guess is that they have dropped small amounts of fry and they have been eaten before you have even noticed them..

Iv had some guppies for around a month now, they were heavily pregnant when i got them but they went skinny after one night in my tank. I assume its because they aborted due to the change? I say this because i bought 2 very pregnant guppies yesterday and today they are thin again. I guess moving around pregnant guppies can make them lose the carry?

They prbably just add thier fry, the stress can cause them to abort so depending on how far they are on, the fry may be alive or may be dead.. or still like yellow/orange eggs..
